Vladimir Reshetko

Vladimir Reshetko has been principal cellist in the Vaasa City Orchestra since September 2017. Reshetko was awarded in the international Heran Cello Competition, and he has appeared as soloist with, for instance, the St. Petersburg State Academy Orchestra under the baton of Vasily Petrenko and Ravil Martynov.
Reshetko was trained in St. Petersburg. He continued his studies in Amsterdam and Berlin. Reshetko is a founding member of the Anima Quartet, with which he won first prize and a special prize for best Franz Schubert interpretation in the international ”Franz Schubert and Modern Music” competition, as well as the Boris Pergamenschikow Chamber Music Award and first prise in the Charles Hennen Chamber Music Competition.
Vladimir Reshetko plays on a cello modelled after the Antonio Stradivari ”Gore Booth” cello from 1710, made by Gabriele Jebran Yakoub in 2021.
