Mari Palo
Soprano

Finnish soprano Mari Palo pursued her vocal studies at the Keski-Pohjanmaa Conservatory and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where she received her MA with distinction. Besides her teachers Sirkka Haavisto, Marjut Hannula and Elizabeth Werres, she has studied lied with e.g. Elizabeth Schwarzkopf and Hartmut Höll.
Mari Palo is at home both in classical and contemporary repertoire and she’s a trusted soprano of many Finnish composers like Jaakko Kuusisto, Kirmo Lintinen and Jukka Linkola. Apart from opera she’s also a skilful musical singer and an excellent interpreter of entertainment music. Palo is a regular guest with the Finnish National Opera and has appeared at the Savonlinna Opera Festival and in the opera houses in Oslo and Leipzig. As a concert soloist she has performed with most Finnish orchestras and has also given recitals in Finland and abroad. In 2019 Mari Palo was awarded Pro Finlandia prize.
