Knut Erik Sundquist is one of the leading double bassists of our time. He studied in Vienna under Professor Ludwig Streicher, before assuming the position of principal double bass with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1993 he moved back to his beloved northern Norway, more precisely, Harstad, from where he manages his international activities as soloist and chamber musician. 

Sundquist is a welcome guest at, among others, Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival, and the Lucerne Festival, in addition to chamber music festivals in Norway. Knut Erik Sundquist is a resident musician in Troms County, and teaches at the university in Tromsø, Norway.
