It has become kind of a tradition for Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra to perform at the Music Festival’s Opening Concert. So, of course, they are performing this summer as well in a live streamed concert from Vaasa City Hall.
Jan Söderblom is the conductor and the soloist in Jean Sibelius’ Humoresque for violin in G minor from Opus 89. The orchestra will perform a string serenade by Hans Gál, who emigrated from Vienna to Scotland during World War II. We will also hear Romanian Folk Dances by Béla Bartók and the serious string quartet Op. 95 by Ludwig van Beethoven, both in arrangements for string orchestra.
The link for the live stream will be updated on this page shortly.
