On the Finnish west coast you find Vaasa region and Ostrobothnia only one hour flight from the capitals of Helsinki and Stockholm. Umeå in Sweden is only four hours away with the ferry Wasa Express with several departures daily. Fast train and flight connections to Vaasa.
TRAVEL TO VAASA
By air:
Vaasa Airport is located about 9 kilometers from Vaasa city center. It takes only 10 minutes by car. Vaasa airport is the fifth largest in Finland, and three airline companies operate from Vaasa to Helsinki and Stockholm.
Airport taxi can be booked from the numbers 06 100 411 or 0600 30011. Remember to mention "Airport taxi" when making the call. The booking for the airport taxi should be made at least 2 hours before the flight arrives or departures and for morning flights, the airport taxi should be called the night before at 22.00 the latest.

By train:
If you choose to come by train, you’ll arrive directly in to the Vaasa city center. The railway from Vaasa to Seinäjoki was electrified in 2011, and thanks to the Pendolino train you can travel from Helsinki to Vaasa in no less than 3,5 hours. The new travel center is also located right in the city center, so from there it’s easy to get to your hotel or other accommodation. Traintickets and timetables here.
By ferry:
The shortest sea route from Finland to Sweden is between Vaasa and Umeå. You can travel between the cities with a ferry, which operates throughout all the seasons of the year. From the Vaasa city center you’ll get to the Port of Vaasa by car in five minutes, and the ferry trip from Vaasa to Umeå takes only about four hours. Thanks to the ferry you can also travel by car along the Blue Road, which goes all the way from Norway to Russia. Timetables and prices here.
By bus:
It is also easy to get to the Vasa region from other parts of Finland by bus. Timetables and prices here. It is also very easy to go around in Vasa by taking the city buses. Timetables for the local city buses are available from Visit Vaasa's office or online. (only in finnish or swedish)
During the Korsholm Music Festival, the audience buses will go to almost all the regional concerts, so please check the timetables from the programme.
By car:
It is easy to come to the Vaasa region by car from other parts of Finland but also from Sweden and fromt the rest of Europe. The address to The Korsholm Music Festival Festival Center can be found here. And the addresses to the different concert sites here.
There are no special parkingplaces for concert visitors, please use the local parkinglots.
